Simbhu’s Vaalu to hit the screens on Dec 24

It’s been two years since a Simbhu film hit the marquee and his fans have been quite restless. The news that the film which has been long in the making will finally release on December 24th has sent his fans into spasms of joy. Simbhu tweeted,"Time line is flooding with tweets ..Thanks to all the fans for trending #Vaalu ... Reading ur tweets, kan Kalanga vechitenga :) thank u all. Midnight dubbing for #Vaalu ... Very happy to c fans smiling and happy ... After two long years even I miss me on screen #VaaluDec24”

In Vaalu, Simbhu is paired up with his ex-girlfriend Hansika but we hear that their chemistry is quite rocking. Directed by Vijay Chander, Simbhu essays the role of a jobless North Madras guy. He plays an ardent Thala Ajith fan in this flick and spouts punch dialogues. His love interest is played by Hansika whose character is very talkative and the director is reportedly happy with her dialogue delivery. Loads of laughs will be provided by Santhanam.

The film had run into a financial crisis and was almost dropped. However, it seems to have a got a fresh lease of life much to Simbhu’s relief.

Action King Arjun to pack a punch again!

Jai Hind is one of Arjun’s biggest blockbusters to date and it comes as no surprise that he is now working on Jai Hind 2.  This film is based on the current educational system and lots of research has gone into it. Venkatesh gives a stylish spin to Gopala Gopala!

Pawan Kalyan - Venkatesh starrer Gopala Gopala promises to be quite a cracker of an entertainer. Venkatesh play an antique dealer in this official remake of Oh My God. Shriya Saran plays his wife while Pawan Kalyan plays Lord Krishna.

Venkatesh has brought his own style to the character by picking up clothes to suit the role.  He had done a lot of research on the costumes and decided on different hues of short kurtas with lot of linen and cotton. The simple yet stylish costumes are bound to be a big hit with his fans.

Shooting is in progress at Nanakramguda and the makers are working really hard to bring out the first look in November. They plan to launch the film’s teaser on Venkatesh’s birthday that falls on December 13th.

Kamal’s Papanasam speeding on!

Kamal Hassan’s upcoming flick Papanasam is a remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Drishyam. He plays a lower middle class cable TV operator and Gauthami, his wife. What makes this even more exciting is that this is Gauthami’s comeback film and this is creating quite a flutter.

Speaking about the film, Director Jeethu Joseph said, “It’s the character that is strong. There is no heroism. Kamal has lived as Papanasam Suyabulingam. You will see a Kamal Hassan who is 25 years younger in Papanasam."

Other tidbits we hear about the film is that he will have a distinctive Tirunelveli accent in the film. Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal’s son, Pranav Mohanlal is the Assistant Director in the film. The film is being shot in Tenkasi in Tamilnadu and Thodupuzha in Kerala too.

Meet Gona Ganna Reddy!

Diwali releases ready to crackle!

Current Theega set for a grand October 17th release

Manchu Manoj recently had a recent spate of blockbusters Potugadu and Pandavalu Pandavulu Thummeda. This has increased his popularity and the expectations for his soon-to-be released flick Current Theega. Dubbed serials top Telugu channel TRPs

There has always been a big market for dubbed Hindi serials in Andhra Pradesh. Recently, the ratings revealed that Chinnari Pellikoothuru and Eetharam Illalu have been topping the charts for more than a year. Both are being aired on MAA TV.

Chinnari Pellikoothuru is the dubbed version of Balika Vadhu. The storyline focuses on child marriage and how it impacts the lives of two children Anandi and Jagdish who were married to each other during their childhood. Later on the two get divorced and remarry.  Last week, the serial received a whopping 12.22 TRP.

Eetharam Illalu is the dubbed version of Diya Aur Baati Hum and came second with a 8.08 TRP. 

The story focuses on the protagonist Sandhya's struggles to achieve her dream of becoming an IPS officer. Circumstances in her life lead to her to discontinue her graduation and get married. However, she does not give up her dream and finds an ardent supporter in her husband.

Varun Tej debuts with Mukunda

Actor Naga Babu’s son Varun Tej makes his debut with Mukunda. Interestingly, in his first ever film, he seems to have bagged an interesting role which has a scene showing him taking part in a municipal election campaign. Directed by Srikanth Addala, this is being currently shot at Amalapuram.

We hear that the film is a rural love story. Besides Varun Tej, the other key actors are Pooja Hegde, Prakashraj and Rao Ramesh. The Director Srikanth Addala revealed to Supergood Movies that, “Mukunda deals with values, customs and traditions in a family. It also shows the clarity, the young generation has about their future.”

The shooting is drawing to a close and the film is expected to hit the screens in October.

Rajini fans elated with Lingaa’s first look

As Rajini fans celebrated Vinayaka Chaturthi, they were in for another treat.  The first look of Superstar Rajinikanth’s Lingaa was released on the auspicious day too.  This has all the typical elements that every fan would look for.

It shows Rajinikanth striding in his characteristic style flaunting his attitude in a leather jacket, ripped jeans, white tee and a brown scarf. Dry leaves fly around his feet and he looks powerful and radiates great confidence.

Interestingly, a punch dialogue from his film has got leaked. We hear the dialogue is spoken when he appeals to villagers to help him build a dam and says, "I don't need a Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Chettiar, Nadar, Mudaliar. Those who call themselves Indians alone come with me." 

The film is currently being shot across Karnataka. Sonakshi Sinha has been cast opposite him and it’s being directed by K. S. Ravikumar. Lingaa will release on Dec 12th which is the Superstar’s birthday.

Shruti and Ram Charan’s chemistry to sizzle again!

Mega Power Star Ram Charan and Shruti Hassan had paired together in Yevadu and their sizzling chemistry was the talk of the town. Jyothika to make her big comeback!

Jyothika fans were quite upset when the bubbly actress quit acting post her marriage to Suriya in 2007. Hansika upset by fake manager

Hansika’s career has been flying high and she is working on three big films in Tamil, Romeo Juliet, Maegaman and Uyire Uyire. She also indulged herself in an adventurous vacation. The star has been travelling across Europe and having a blast. She enjoyed herself cycling, painting, watching bull-fights and travelling across Barcelona, Spain and Paris.

The pretty star however was quite miffed recently. We hear that a man has been posing as her manager and been listening to scripts and dicussing her salary. When this reached her ears, she was quite shocked and determined to put an end to the conman’s activities.

Hansika then issued a statement saying, “It had been brought to my attention by certain friends in the film industry that a particular person has been misusing my name. I believe he was calling himself my manager, and subsequently discussing my projects as well as finances. It is my mother, Dr. Mona, who helps and guides me in this. Those who deal with such ‘fakes’ do so at their own risk.”

NTR Junior to treat his audience with Rabhasa on Independence Day

Suriya’s Anjaan has fans excited!

Suriya’s upcoming flick Anjaan has been successfully censored and is all set for a grand Independence Day release on August 15th. Dhanajayan Govind of UTV Motion Pictures tweeted this update, “Anjaan censored with U. All set to entertain you totally on 15th August folks! Despite not knowing the language, the board enjoyed the entertainment in Anjaan. Excited & happy. Get ready folks!”

Anjaan is directed by Lingusamy, its star-studded cast includes Samantha, Vidyut Jamwal, Manoj Bajpai, Dalip Tahil and Soori. The grapevine reports that Suriya is playing dual roles in the film and one will have a raw, jagged look. The music by Yuvan Shankar Raja has been released and is rocking the charts.

Post Anjaan, Suriya has Masss lined up. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, this too has an impressive star cast comprising Nayanthara, Amy Jackson and Parthiban. Shooting has already commenced.

Pawan Kalyan has political aspirations and has been quite open about them. Speaking to the TOI, he said, "Once the Election Commission recognises Jana Sena Party as a political entity, I'll break my silence to the media and explain the party's future plan of action. Until then, I urge people not to misuse my party's name or my name on social networking sites." He also warned, “We have not authorised anyone to collect funds and if anyone is caught doing so, he'll have to face serious consequences."

Vivek moves away from comedy?

Vivek usually plays the hero’s friend and brings in his own brand of comedy sometimes laced with a social message.  He ensures that he keeps the audience in splits with his jokes and wisecracks. Vivek plays the role of a Hindu priest. He told a leading website, “It is true that when comedians try to become heroes, they try to do more of the same — they want to do a full-fledged comedy. But today, even the leading men want to do more comedy. I didn’t want to go down that path.” We hear that it was Director Bala who encouraged him to take up this role.
